THE NEW MARAMAI CRU VINEYARD

Dear Friends, the work at Gracciano della Seta does not stop and, among other activities, we recently replanted a vineyard: the Maramai cru vineyard.

This vineyard, of an extension of 1 hectare, is very important for us for two reasons:

- Its geological and soil characteristics

The soil has a sandy texture and it is rich in small reddish pebbles. The grapes grown on this type of soil are less concentrated and the wines are well balanced and fine and complex on the nose.

- The surroundings

The Maramai vineyard stands over a vast  uncontaminated plain, free of buildings, roads or other man made elements, it is rich in vegetation and in wildlife. The “Gruccione” (bee-eater) is a slender and colourful bird that usually nidifies on the tufa walls below our vineyard. In the springtime the plain turns into a carpet of thousands of colours and smells so that the Maramai vineyard is a perfect observation site for wildlife and indigenous plants.
